11 октября 2016 Викиликс вывалили очередную порцию емайлов из взломанной почты Джона Подесты. Среди них был емайл 2011 года, в котором Дженифер Палмиери (Director of Communicationsв в кампании Хиллари Клинтон) обменивалась мнением с Джоном Халпиным, другим демократом и католиком, в то время когда они вместе с Подестой работали в Center for American Progress.

Халпин обсуждал статью про Руперта Мердока, в которой рассказывалось, как Мердок выращивает детей в католической вере: "Ken Auletta's latest piece on Murdoch in the New Yorker starts off with the aside that both Murdoch and Robert Thompson, managing editor of the WSJ, are raising their kids Catholic. Friggin' Murdoch baptized his kids in Jordan where John the Baptist baptized Jesus." На что Палмиери заметила: "I imagine they think it is the most socially acceptable politically conservative religion. Their rich friends wouldn't understand if they became evangelicals."

Раннее репортаж тех же авторов привёл к отставке генерального прокурора штата Нью-Йорк Эрика Шнейдермана.

Неизвестно пока, приведут ли новые разоблачения к снятию кандидатуры Кавано или только укрепят партию Трампа в стремлении его утвердить.



Не менее примечателен другой репортаж Майер под названием How Russia Helped Swing the Election for Trump. Речь идёт о новой книге Cyberwar: How Russian Hackers and Trolls Helped Elect a President—What We Don’t, Can’t, and Do Know. Книга выходит в серьезном академическим издательстве Oxford University Press и написана серьёзным автором - Kathleen Hall Jamieson, профессором Университета Пенсильвании и основателем FactCheck.org. Джэмисон является экспертом по политической социологии и изучала все американские выборы, начиная с 1976.

But the reference to Mr. Rosenstein’s actions in the memo — a much-disputed document that paints the investigation into Russian election meddling as tainted from the start — indicates that Republicans may be moving to seize on his role as they seek to undermine the inquiry.

Из переписки с Дональдом-младшим анти-американское и про-путинское поведение Викиликс высвечивается вполне четко. Вначале контакта (20 сентября 2016) они зашкваривают Трампа, послав ему пароль к взломанному анти-трамповскому сайту putintrump.org. В день выборов, в ожидании победы Клинтон, они предлагают Трампу не признавать поражения, а продолжать мутить воду.

Проблема с этими разоблачениями в том, что они мешают все в кучу. К примеру, часто упоминаемая Louise Mensch, бывший член британского Парламента от партии Тори и сторонник Брекзита, никаким образом не относится ни к левым, ни к либералам. Ее фантазии на тему Трампа и России безусловны полны утверждений, оторванных от реальности, но могут содержать и отдельные здравые мысли. Зачем она этим занимается, не до конца понятно. Другие авторы, вроде Claude Taylor, больше похожи на жуликов, которые зарабатывают денежку, пользуясь доверием читателей и их интересом к Рашагейту. Eric Garland не претендует на сообщение каких-либо новых сведений, а просто художественно выражает свои эмоции. John Shindler - бывший сотрудник АНБ, хорошо знает свой предмет. В Твиттере он позволяет себе более свободные высказывания, но его статьи в Observer написаны аккуратно и основаны на достоверной информации: http://observer.com/author/john-r-schindler/ К левым и либералом он тоже никаким боком не относится и нещадно критиковал Хиллари Клинтон за ее почтовый сервер. Из упомянутых авторов либералом является Leah McElrath, которая пишет в Shareblue. Смешивать всех этих авторов в одну кучу и фактически неверно, и просто глупо.



То, что антитрампистам, в частности либералам и демократам, не следует уподобляться поклонникам Алекса Джонса и увлекаться теориями заговора - правильное предупреждение. С другой стороны, не надо забывать, что речь идет о российских спецслужбах, а с ними самые затейливые теории заговора могут вдруг оказаться правдой. Если американцу рассказать, что на Олимпиаде в Солт Лейк Сити все американская команда сидела на допинге, а агенты ФБР по ночам пробирались в центр тестирования, чтобы тайно вскрыть бутылки с мочой и подменить пробы, он сочтет эту теорию заговора слишком затейливой даже для Алекса Джонса. Однако когда подобное происходит в России, это даже мало кого удивляет. Смешивать в кучу явные фантазии про Рашагейт и предположения, основанные на фактах, с тем, чтобы объявить все это гигантской теорией заговора, опять же не только глупо, но и вредно.

Глобальное потепление будет иметь разный эффект на разные страны, с победителями и проигравшими. Цветами на карте из статьи в МIT Technology Review показано ожидаемое изменение в национальном ВВП, вызванное изменениями климата. Нефтедобывающая Россия - в числе немногих победителей. В большой плюс пойдет ей сегодняшнее решение Трампа выйти из Парижского соглашения, таким образом присоединившись к прежним друзьям России Сирии и Никарагуа.

Идея о том, что хакерский взлом почты демократов совершили сами американские спецслужбы, чтобы свалить это на русских и тем самым навредить Трампу, достойна лучших образцов российской пропаганды. Нечто вроде идеи о том, что украинцы сами сбили малайзийский Боинг, чтобы свалить на русских и представить их в плохом виде. Но жестоко просчитались, потому что никаких доказательств того, что сбили русские, как известно, нет.

Но даже российские деятели ходят вокруг идеи о хакерском навете на цыпочках. Сергей Лавров:

Говоря о фактах, мы вынуждены учитывать все то, что становится известным. Сообщается и о том, что ЦРУ, кроме того, что занимается поощрением хакерских контактов и проникновений, еще и аккумулирует технологии иностранных хакеров и используемые ими вредоносные технологии, то есть получают доступ к тому, что называется «почерком» или «отпечатками пальцев». Поэтому, когда нас в чем-то обвиняли, то в качестве доказательств приводили именно «отпечатки пальцев» российских хакеров. Теперь становится известно, что ЦРУ вполне по силам получать доступ к таким «отпечаткам пальцев» и затем, наверное, иметь возможность их использовать.
