Круз держался долго. На республиканском съезде он отказался явным образом поддержать Трампа и призвал всех голосовать, как им подсказывает совесть. Решение давалось ему трудно. Если бы Трамп выиграл без его поддержки, Круз, возможно, стал бы изгоем в партии и лишился бы доноров и поддержки избирателей, как это произошло с сенатором Джефом Флейком из Аризоны. Вчера в Белом доме под председательством Трампа прошло совещание по поводу российского вмешательство в выборы в Конгресс в этом году. Совещание продолжалось от силы полчаса и закончилось ничем.

Делегация сенаторов-республиканцев решила отметить День независимости в Москве. Сенаторы в этой компании достаточно случайные и не относятся, в отличие от Джона Маккейна и Джин Шахин (которым запрещен въезд в Россию), к тем, кто специализируется на международных отношениях. Тем удивительней их унизительный визит.

К унижению добавляет то, что американских журналистов на встречи не допустили, а об участниках встречи и предметах разговоров приходится узнавать из российских источников.



3 июля американскую парламентскую делегацию принял министр иностранных дел России Сергей Лавров, сообщает РИА Новости. Затем состоялась их встреча с российскими коллегами в Совете Федерации на Большой Дмитровке. В Россию американские законодатели приехали 30 июня. До Москвы они уже посетили Санкт-Петербург и провели в Северной столице ряд официальных встреч. Кроме того, они познакомились с жизнью в двух российских мегаполисах.
Также прошла встреча членов американской делегации в Госдуме на Охотном ряду. Рассматривалось, что было сделано администрацией Обамы в 2016 в свете рекомендаций для новой администрации по борьбе с новым российским вмешательством. Общее заключение: Путина наказали слабо, и он не остановится. Необходимо защищать системы для голосования, координировать действия правительства и лучше информировать публику.



Похоже, что особая ненависть Путина к Нуланд проистекает из 2012 года. После "выборов" Путина Обама, в отличие от Трампа, не спешил поздравлять и подождал пять дней, прежде чем позвонить.

На следующий день после выборов с поздравлением от имени Госдепа выступила Нуланд. Но поздравляла она не Путина, а российский народ, и не столько с избранием президента, сколько с окончанием балагана.

In 2016, cyber actors affiliated with the Russian Government conducted an unprecedented, coordinated cyber campaign against state election infrastructure. Russian actors scanned databases for vulnerabilities, attempted intrusions, and in a small number of cases successfully penetrated a voter registration database. This activity was part of a larger campaign to prepare to undermine confidence in the voting process. The Committee has not seen any evidence that vote tallies were manipulated or that voter registration information was deleted or modified.

The EU referendum was won through a fraud, the whistleblower Christopher Wylie has told MPs, accusing Vote Leave of improperly channelling money through a tech firm with links to Cambridge Analytica.
Wylie told a select committee that the pro-Brexit campaign had a “common plan” to use the network of companies to get around election spending laws and said he thought there “could have been a different outcome had there not been, in my view, cheating”.
