Во вчерашнем расследовании Washington Post упоминается о поместьях МИД РФ в Мэриленде и Нью-Йорке, отобранных в декабре администрацией Обамы по настоятельной рекомендации отдела контрразведки ФБР.

The FBI had long lobbied to close two Russian compounds in the United States — one in Maryland and another in New York — on the grounds that both were used for espionage and placed an enormous surveillance burden on the bureau. <...>
At one point in the White House deliberations, intelligence analysts used aerial images of the facilities to show how they had been modified to enhance their espionage capabilities. Slides displayed in the Situation Room showed new chimneys and other features, all presumed to allow for the installation of more-sophisticated eavesdropping equipment aimed at U.S. naval facilities and the NSA headquarters at Fort Meade in Maryland.
Rice pointed to the FBI’s McCabe and said: “You guys have been begging to do this for years. Now is your chance.”
The administration gave Russia 24 hours to evacuate the sites, and FBI agents watched as fleets of trucks loaded with cargo passed through the compounds’ gates.
When FBI agents entered the sites, they found them stripped of antennas, electronics, computers, file cabinets and other gear, officials said, their hasty removal leaving visible markings on floors, tables and walls.

Неудивительно, что администрация Трампа, прогибаясь под угрожающие требования представителей МИД РФ, делала все возможное, чтобы вернуть поместья бывшим владельцам. Ныне для этого потребуется остановить принятие Конгрессом закона о санкциях. Работа ведётся.

The Trump administration is planning to step up its lobbying against parts of a bipartisan Senate bill slapping new sanctions on Russian and Iran, a senior official said — an effort that comes as Congress works to clear up an unexpected roadblock to the measure that could give the White House more time to air its concerns to sympathetic House Republicans.
The White House opposes provisions that could be seen as preempting the president’s powers, the official said. Of particular concern is a congressional review process that would allow the House and Senate to block the president from lifting sanctions.

О поместье в Мэриленде рассказывалось в статье Washington Life 2007 г. под названием "Dacha Sweet Dacha":

Russians cherish the dacha, a word meaning summer house or cottage. During summers and weekends, millions of them leave the stress of congested city life for the solace of a cabin or house in the countryside. "It's a Russian tradition," explains Yuri Ushakov, ambassador of the Russian Federation. "You will find Moscow empty on Saturdays and Sundays, even in winter. A dacha is a good place to spend time outdoors with family and friends."
Since arriving in Washington eight years ago, the Ushakov and his wife Svetlana Ushakova have kept up this tradition on Maryland's Eastern Shore. They spend nearly every weekend and longer stretches during the summer at the embassy's three-story brick dacha fronting the Chester River. While the 1920s Georgian-style house doesn't exactly look Russian, it offers the couple the same pleasures as their dacha outside of Moscow, especially the chance to spend time with their 10-year-old grandson Misha, grilling shashlik (Russian shish kebob), with friends, or relaxing in the bania, Russian for steam room.

На посту посла РФ в США Юрия Ушакова сменил Сергей Кисляк. С 2012 Ушаков работает в Кремле официальным помощником Путина по внешнеполитическим вопросам, участвуя в том числе в сопровождении контактов Путина с Трампом.

Он отметил, что ситуация с так называемым "Russiangate" в Вашингтоне была точно охарактеризована президентом РФ Владимиром Путиным как "политическая шизофрения". "Это характеризует сейчас нравы, которые господствуют, к сожалению, в политической элите Вашингтона. Конечно, это вызывает досаду, сожаление, недоумение", — сказал Ушаков.

The Russians were given 24 hours to get out of the compound and 72 hours to leave the country. Current U.S. officials tell CBS News they vacated the compounds before the 24-hour deadline, striking some as odd and raising the question of whether the diplomats had been tipped off about their expulsion.
Among the destroyed materials discovered at the compounds were antennas, electronics, computers, file cabinets and other gear, according to a former official. Other material was missing.
