Среди троллей, которые распространяли "fake news" (фальшивые новости в прямом смысле этого слова) про Хиллари Клинтон было две категории: те, кто агитировал за Трампа, и те, кто агитировал за Берни Сандерса. Обращая внимания на первую категорию, не следует упускать из вида вторую. Создание раскола внутри демократов было одной из главных тактических задач российской спецоперации.

Похоже, что в войне со спецслужбами у Трампа не осталось хороших ходов.

В прошедший четверг директор ФБР весь день провел в Конгрессе для брифинга профильных комиссий:

The FBI director met first with Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) and Sens. Richard Burr (R-N.C.) and Mark Warner (D.Va)—the top two members of the Senate Intelligence Committee—in a secure room in the Senate basement, known as a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF). He then crossed the Capitol to meet with their House counterparts: Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.), House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Reps. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) and Adam Schiff (D-Calif.)—the top two members of the House Intelligence Committee.

Публичные слушания в Комиссии по разведке нижней палаты Конгресса назначены на следующий понедельник. А к этому понедельнику комиссия потребовала от Белого Дома предоставить любые имеющиеся у них данные в подтверждение утверждений Трампа о его незаконной прослушке.

Conway, who managed Trump’s presidential campaign before taking the job as one of the president's closest advisers, suggested that the alleged monitoring of activities at Trump’s campaign headquarters at Trump Tower in Manhattan may have involved far more than wiretapping. “What I can say is there are many ways to surveil each other,” Conway said as the Trump presidency marked its 50th day in office during the weekend. “You can surveil someone through their phones, certainly through their television sets — any number of ways.” Conway went on to say that the monitoring could be done with “microwaves that turn into cameras,” adding: “We know this is a fact of modern life.”
