Остается загадкой, почему после инаугирации Трамп первым делом посетил штаб-квартиру ЦРУ в Лэнгли. Его утверждение "probably almost everybody in this room voted for me" было очевидной выдумкой. 2/3 избирателей в Fairfax County в Вирджинии, куда входит Лэнгли, голосовали за Клинтон в 2016 и за демократов на вчерашних выборах.

Недавно стало известно, что по настоянию Трампа директор ЦРУ Помпео встречался с нашим хорошим знакомым, любимым конспирологом Russia Today Биллом Бинни, чтобы выслушать его теорию заговора о том, что никаких российских хакеров не было, а демократы взломали сами себя.



Первым об этой встрече сообщил Intercept:

In an interview with The Intercept, Binney said Pompeo told him that President Donald Trump had urged the CIA director to meet with Binney to discuss his assessment that the DNC data theft was an inside job. During their hour-long meeting at CIA headquarters, Pompeo said Trump told him that if Pompeo “want[ed] to know the facts, he should talk to me,” Binney said.

It is extremely unusual for a CIA director to meet with someone like Binney, who for years has accused U.S. intelligence agencies of subverting the constitution and violating the civil rights of Americans. He has been feted in Europe and elsewhere as a truth-telling whistleblower, but American officials of all political persuasions say his allegations about the NSA are false.
Making the meeting even more noteworthy is the fact that Binney, 74, has made frequent appearances on RT, Russia's state-funded broadcasting and internet news agency — which the CIA recently accused of acting as a propaganda arm for Russia, with the goal of undermining confidence in American democracy.
Binney met with the director in his 7th floor office at the CIA's original headquarters building, where the lobby includes a memorial wall carved with stars to remember fallen officers.

Если ФБР традиционно огорожено стеной Министерства юстиции, ЦРУ находится под более прямым контролем президента. Поэтому Никсон пытался использовать ЦРУ для защиты от ФБР, Рейган - для Иран-Контра, а Буш и Чейни смогли надавить на ЦРУ для обоснования войны в Ираке.

Если нынешний директор ЦРУ будет с таким же рвением исполнять прихоти нынешнего президента, нас ждут опасные времена.

А байку про то, как демократы взломали сами себя, диктуют из Кремля без тени смущения.
