В процессе превращения тайного в явное кусочки паззла начинают складываться. В августе появилось сообщение CNN о том, что в июне 2016 Рик Диарборн, в то время - руководитель аппарата Джеффа Сешнса и советник избирательной кампании Трампа, сообщил о намерении организовать встречу Трампа с Путиным.

Ныне New York Times рассказывает об емайле на ту же тему, полученным Диарборном в мае 2016 от Пола Эриксона, партнера Марии Бутиной. В качестве канала связи между Путиным и Трампом предлагалось использовать приезд Торшина на конференцию NRA 20 мая 2016.

“Putin is deadly serious about building a good relationship with Mr. Trump,” the N.R.A. member and conservative activist, Paul Erickson, wrote. “He wants to extend an invitation to Mr. Trump to visit him in the Kremlin before the election. Let’s talk through what has transpired and Senator Sessions’s advice on how to proceed.”

Претензии Сешнса, начальника Диарборна, на то, что он запамятовал об этих дискуссиях, выглядят нелепо.



На картинке Бутина и Эриксон изображены в 2014. Можно вспомнить, как в ноябре 2016 они вместе праздновали избрание Трампа.

The event was a costume party attended by Trump campaign aides and Erickson, who told guests that he was on the Trump presidential transition team. She dressed as Russian Empress Alexandra while Erickson was dressed as Rasputin.
As chilled vodka flowed through an ice sculpture—a bottle imprinted with the Soviet hammer and sickle—she took some time to brag. She brazenly claimed that she had been part of the Trump campaign’s communications with Russia, two individuals who were present said. On other occasions, in one of her graduate classes, she repeated this claim.
