These efforts are not exclusive to this election or future elections, but certainly cover issues relevant to the election. We also know the Russians tried to hack into and steal information from candidates and government officials alike. DIRECTOR WRAY: The reality is, it’s going to take all of us working together to hold the field, because this threat is not going away. As I have said consistently: Russia attempted to interfere with the last election, and continues to engage in malign influence operations to this day. This is a threat we need to take extremely seriously, and to tackle and respond to with fierce determination and focus. GENERAL NAKASONE: I have complete confidence in the forces under my command. We will work in conjunction with other elements of our government to ensure we bring the full power of our nation to bear on any foreign power that attempts to interfere in our democratic processes. All of the above and potentially more. I can’t go into any deep, deep details on what is classified. But it is pervasive.
